ArcGIS demo using a tile service and WMS to add zip code layers to map
This demo goes through the steps to create a new project in ArcGIS and then add a basemap, a tile layer, and a WMS layer.
This demo the services listed on the Geoplatform Census 5-Digit ZIP Code Tabulation Area metadata page.

Example Steps
- Open ArcGIS and start with a Map template
- This will have the World Topographic Map and World Hillshade maps as basemaps.
- To find links to resources and the the tile service layer go to Census 5-Digit ZIP Code Tabulation Area metadata page.
- Click on the View on Map button for the layer and copy the URL.
- In ArcGIS click Add Data from Path.
- Add the copied URL for the tile service.
- From the Census 5-Digit ZIP Code Tabulation Area metadta page get the link to the WMS.
- In ArcGIS add the WMS under Connections on the Insert tab.

Enter the copied URL from the metadata page.
- In the Catalog pane add the Zip Code Tabulation Areas to the map.
- The map now shows the zip code tabulation areas with labels.
